What an amazing start to the new year! I hope you all had superb Christmases and that you've begun the year with as much enthusiasm as I have? There's nothing quite like being a #maker and looking forward to every new #challenge.
As a quick overview, here's a gallery of some of the #projects that I've already worked on in the first three weeks of 2020:
The #angelwing #gates have been delivered and installed by the customers - can't wait to see them in situ;
the low #table is made from two different base elements to reflect the house in which it'll live - it has a cut-out #glass top to allow the family's two children to snuggle up close and get crafty;
the organic form #canopy has been #zinc coated and works to protect the #door over which it sits;
the thumb-print #Juliette #balcony was an idea that I had to help a mother see a part of her daughter, who lives overseas, every time she pulls up to her house
In other exciting news, I'm doing (so far), 4 #RoyalHorticul...
Can you believe it's that time of year again? I'm already two weeks through my 6-week weekend residence at #BlackthorpeBarn and it's going amazingly well!
As is usual at this time of year, I'm spending my weekends from 9th November through to 15th December at the magically #festive place that is Blackthorpe Barn, and I've brought lots of new products as well as old favourites with me.
As I've got one of my favourite events coming up this weekend, I thought I'd write a quick piece about the reasons for loading up the trailer and bringing my work to you.
Helmingham Hall is an incredible place and I can't wait to exhibit there on Sunday - this'll be the last chance for you to look around the gardens as they close up for the winter after that:
When I exhibit around the local area, whether it be Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex, I get to meet the most interesting people and to show them examples of my work. 2 years ago, when I exhibited at Helmingham Hall, I met an interesting architect who lived in an old, converted oast house that's now a small complex of apartments. Just recently, she's been in touch and commissioned me to create a balustrade for her ... can you believe I got to work indoors!?
As you'll have no doubt seen (if you follow me on social media), I'm having a sale! Most of my stock (apart from the smaller bullrushes and garden orbs), has a massive 20% off until 31st August. Don't miss out - you've got 3 whole days left to take advantage!
Go to my website and you'll even find that Renard the spider has had 20% knocked off (the price, not the number of legs or anything quite that mean!)
In other news, I'm really looking forward to Helmingham this year - talking of Renard, he accompanied me to Helmingham the last time I was there. Sunday 15th September is the date to pencil in your diaries - it's a great day out for all with plants and artisan craft stalls galore - more info here
What an amazing Summer I'm having - can't quite believe we're just past the longest day already! Lots of things going on; busy, busy as usual - thought I'd just highlight a few things you may be interested in:
Over the last couple of months, I've had three great events: Essex Craft & Design Fair at Hyde Hall, Helmingham Hall Spring Fair and the Suffolk Show. Check out my stylish client from Hyde Hall; Renard's visit to Helmingham, and the amazingly purple carpet in the Lifestyle Pavilion at the Suffolk Show!
In other news, I've been doing some work, behind the scenes, on my Google account and you're all now able to leave reviews - if any of you have the time to add a quick, short testimonial, I'd be very grateful - it'll help me to reach more lovely customers - thanks in advance :)
In case you didn't catch a sculptural project I've recently worked on, here's a highlight of something I'm quite proud of - it's a crucifix statue made from two monoliths - if you walk around it, you appreciat...
It's springtime and heading towards summer - the time of year when all of us makers gradually creep out of our workshops, having spent the winter working on stock to be offered up to the sun and the outside world, and emerge into the light!
Here's a round-up of where you can find me this year...

So, today I'm at Framlingham market, bringing the joy of hornets and bullrushes and easy-to-take-home creations to last-minute Christmas shoppers. If you can make it down, I'd love to see you!
Blackthorpe Barn Christmas market was amazing - met so many interesting people and managed to spread my metal craft to a wider audience; I look forward to catching up with many of you in the new year. Hornets were a massive success (I've created and sold over 60 since 1st November... look for one in a garden near you!), as were my new arch creations.
This last week before the festive hols has been as crazy as ever orders have still been coming in and, with so many sales lately, my stock is depleted and I'm busy, busy making to fulfil orders that I have in... a good problem to have!
Keep your eyes peeled in January for new dates for your diary... I'm planning to get out and about to meet as many people as I can in 2019. Also, in January, you'll be able to order my items directly from my w...
Not only am I exhibiting at the best Christmas event that I know of, but I'm also doing my Christmas shopping there! Supporting small, local businesses is something that I'm massively passionate about and, as I'm there for the next few weeks, it makes perfect sense - here's the wonder of my stall this year... suitably festive, I hope you'll agree:
Here's the world from Blackthorpe Barn themselves:
Each weekend from 10th November and for five weekends thereafter, visitors can meander through the barn and be delighted by the absolute best of our country’s talented artist and skilled crafts makers as they showcase their individually hand-crafted items.
The barn is brimming with 100% British items all beautifully created by the exhibitors themselves, this is strict criteria for the crafts makers and that’s why visiting Blackthorpe Barn delivers such a unique experience. It really is the ultimate craft experience, with turned and crafted wooden creations, textile and knitwear garments, artwo...
