British Makers and Christmas Fayre
Each Christmas I install myself at the magical Blackthorpe Barn and spend 6 weekends in a festive wonderland of British makers and craftspeople, all selling our wares to the public. It really is a fantastic place to spend a few hours and to lose yourself in all things Christmas. Blackthorpe Barn, is itself an incredible old 16th Century building and (in their own words) "Every year, for many years, the heavy oak doors of Blackthorpe Barn have been opened to present the most wonderful Christmas festival. This year is no exception, we have created a truly magical and unique Christmas experience for all to enjoy."
Within the grounds there are magical walks, there's a santa's grotto (bookable in advance), a Christmas shop full of every bauble and decoration you can imagine and then there's the British Crafts fair that's on every weekend from 9th November through to 15th December and that's where you'll find me with a huge selection of things for the home and garden. In my first two weekends this year, I've sold out of hornets (the perfect pesky present!) and had to dash back to the workshop and make more!
This year, I've brought Renard the spider with me - you can't miss him - he's right outside in the grounds waiting for his new forever home! If you want to get into the Christmas spirit and fancy Christmas shopping from the best of British makers, nip along - you can easily spend a few hours in these spectacular surroundings... it'd be great to see you!
