Going out out


It's springtime and heading towards summer - the time of year when all of us makers gradually creep out of our workshops, having spent the winter working on stock to be offered up to the sun and the outside world, and emerge into the light!

Here's a round-up of where you can find me this year...

Halesworth Garden Market

Saturday 27th April

IT'S TOMORROW!

"Nurseries, plant specialists and artisans coming from across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex offering a huge range of plants, individually crafted garden pieces, vintage tools and lots more" - that's how they describe it, who am I to reword!?

The Essex Craft and Design Show

Friday 3rd - Monday 6th May

"Artists, designer makers and craftsmen will be showcasing and selling the very best in fine art, photography, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and many other contemporary crafts" - we certainly will!

Helmingham Hall Spring Plant Fair

Sunday May 26th

"Join us for our 2019 Plant Heritage Plant Fair & Artisan Market which is set to be bigger and better than ever before! With specialist nurseries, artisan products, conservation zone, entertainment and children’s activities, we’ll have something for every taste and age. Plant Heritage is a charity dedicated to the conservation of rare garden plants." day out for the fam!

The Suffolk Show

29th and 30th May

"Suffolk's annual two day event celebrating everything that is great about Suffolk, comes to life once again. A fun day out for the whole family." Find me near the Lifestyle Pavilion - stand number to be confirmed... this really is a great day ; so much to see and do

Ickworth Country House Estate Fayre

29th and 30th June

"With live entertainment, shopping, children’s activities and demonstrations of countryside skills, our Country Estate Fayre returns with fun for the whole family. Book the date in with your family and friends and don’t miss out! Browse wool and craft stalls, grab a bite to eat and head on a tour with National Trust team members to learn about our Estate and Gardens.Head to our kids (and big kids) zone for our storytelling village, games and traditional rides.Enjoy a variety of country traditions and skills such as Morris dancing, Blacksmithing and wood carving. Not forgetting a chance to meet a Suffolk Punch Horse. You wouldn't want to miss it!" Absolutely not!

Tendring Hundred Show

13th July

Find me in the Lifestyle Pavilion at The Tendring Hundred - "a family show that brings together rural and urban communities in the Essex region. While still maintaining its agricultural roots through large displays of farm machinery and a focus on rural pastimes, the Show offers challenging and informative displays, an open air shopping experience with over 200 trade stands, as well as a wide range of exhibitions and much more."

Helmingham Hall Autumn Plant Fair with Artisan Market

15th September

See me at the artisan market as part of this great day out - here's the blurb: "Artisan Market - A wide range of exhibitors offering everything from artisan foods and handmade soaps to vintage French collectables and pottery. As well as the wonderful stall holders, we have fantastic entertainment including Chocks Away vintage dancers, live music, birds of prey and children’s activities. There will also be lots of lovely local food and drink, making the fair an ideal day out for gardening clubs, families and similar groups – coaches are very welcome. Situated in front of the magnificent moated Helmingham Hall, visitors to the plant sale can also enjoy Helmingham Hall’s Grade 1 listed gardens, including dramatic borders, knot and herb gardens, nineteenth century parterre, ancient deer park and Victorian kitchen garden.."

Ickworth 30th Anniversary Wood & Craft Fair

5th and 6th October

"Don't miss our annual Wood and Craft Fair as is enters its 30th year. Take the rare opportunity to buy quality Ickworth wood milled from the estate. Browse craft and pottery stalls, learn about the different techniques of transforming wood and take part in some children's activities. Not forgetting live music and locally brewed ales." You wouldn't want to miss it.

So, that's me for the year so far - keep an eye on my calendar of events as there will be other added as we go along. Don't forget you can also find lots of stock permanently at The SHED, Sproughton - I have a great space with much metalware and, as well as that, you'll get to browse their incredible showrooms of antiques and vintage treasure and have the most amazing food and drinks in their vintage tea room ... what's not to like about that?!
