Looking forward to the Summer!

Well, what a crazy time we're living in right now. It's still strange to think that a few weeks ago we had no idea that we were going to be so isolated for weeks on end - I'm sure, like me, you're finding it a little difficult to get your heads around?!

For me, I've had events cancelled: three of the four RHS Garden Shows at Cardiff, Chatsworth and Malvern but, I'm ever the optimist and am making the most of this time to plan ahead for the one remaining show that, at the time of writing, is still on: RHS Tatton Park at the end of July. I'm hoping to be able to tag along to others that are happening later on in the year so that I can make the most of the stock that I've made to take with me! Keep an eye on my calendar to see where you'll find me this year.

So, lots of news: at the time of writing, I'm lucky enough to be able to carry on working on commissions and stock items - my workshop really is in the middle of nowhere and so being socially distant is no problem at all!

I'm still able to courier things to you at the moment (that may obviously change as time goes on), so, whilst we've all got more time on our hands, why not start planning your garden and think about how it's going to be when we're all free!? I've added new things to my online shop - take a look and get some inspiration. If you can't find what you're looking for there, do get in touch about a commission - I'm always up for a chat and for designing and creating something bespoke. Here are a few things I've added to the shop:

You'll see that I've added the leaf canopy that I've designed and built for my RHS Garden Shows to the online shop - I've really enjoyed working on it and I'm not going to need it until July. For that reason, I'm putting it up for sale and will set to work making more... ensuring that my own is ready for the summer - details are in the shop. I've also created another design, based upon this leaf canopy but, this time,

with more of a horizontal angle. Take a look at the maquette that I've made to show how it'd work:

I've been working on some great commissions lately - here are a few things that I've enjoyed creating over the last month or so:

That's a quick roundup of things that are going on here at the moment. Please do follow me on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter: kevcolbeardesign), and I'll keep you up to date on all things happening in the creative metalwork world!

In the hope of sharing positive things on social media, it would be amazing if you could share pictures of any of my pieces in their new homes - I'm always keen to see my work once it's 'bedded in' - pieces rust and gardens grow and I'd love to see how things have developed. Tag me on social media or just email me pics and I'll share - thanks so much!

Stay home and stay safe everyone - look after yourselves and remember, summer will be here before we know it.
